Conceived at the Grand Egyptian Museum, Cairo. Painted in Lisbon.

Two figures, face to face. A pharaoh and his queen — or perhaps two selves in dialogue, two moments in time recognising each other across the centuries.

This painting was born from a sketch made standing before the ancient reliefs of the Grand Egyptian Museum. What struck Satish most was not the grandeur of the artefacts but their intimacy — the way two figures carved five thousand years ago could still communicate tenderness, authority, and presence with nothing more than a line and a gesture.

The golden palette is deliberate: the warmth of desert stone, of sunlight on the Nile, of something that has survived long enough to become timeless. The slate-blue ground holds them like the sky holds the pyramids — quietly, without effort. The bold black outlines echo the mathematical precision of Egyptian draughtsmanship, that extraordinary economy of line that said everything and wasted nothing.

Eternal Conversations is about what endures. Not monuments — but the look between two people. The turn of a head. The hand that reaches.
