A Window Series — 24 x 36 — Oak Park studio

The town is outside. Until the painting lets it in.

Two figures share a dark interior while a pointed roof, stepped façades, and patches of pink and blue rise beyond them. A table enters from the right; writing crosses the surface. The room offers a place to stand, but the view refuses to remain neatly framed.

Within the Window series, architecture becomes a way of bringing an external world into an internal one. The figures and the town occupy the same painted field, their proportions rearranged by color and attention. Looking out becomes another way of looking inward. The window does not settle the distance; it gives the distance a shape.
